Recumbent Seat makers
I am looking for a good reliable recumbent seat maker. Does anyone out there know if one. Would prefer to work directly with a seat maker and not thought distribution.

I've bought from them direct. They supplied seats to RaptoBike. They have a good web site, decent prices, and lots of different seat types. They are German but the website has an English page.

What kind of recumbent seat, and what kind of recumbent are you talking about? I'm seeing some degree of non-specificity in your request. All recumbents are not the same - some are designed to take carbon shells, some use sling-mesh, some use combination seats. If you're looking for a sling-mesh seat for a long-wheelbase bent, then perhaps ADC at Recycled Recumbents can fix you up. Or you may find something you like via a manufacturer such as Bacchetta or Performer Recumbents.
So I guess for now, the best answer I can give is "42." If you want a better answer, you need to ask a better question.

Depending on what kind of seat. I have had a seat custom made by Andrew from Recycled recumbents. He build me a custom tailored seat because most recumbent seats are too short for my back.
It is based on his standard seat. Just wider and higher back rest. I love it.

The biggest challenge is often figuring how to mount a new seat on your bike. It seems every manufacturer has a different, proprietary method of attaching the seat. Some degree of inventiveness may be required unless you get lucky.

I needed a proper seat for my home made delta and Mr Carson,s recycled recumbent seat looked to fit the bill. He only ships to U.S. so I downloaded the plans and am in the process of making my own. Off to the local Home Depot to pick up a 3/4 and 1/2" conduit bender plus 2 ten foot lengths of each size EMT tubes. I can attest to the fact that there is a learning curve in bending the tubes. I,ve got enough to make 2 sets now and the next stage is to make a jig so the seat spreaders can be MIG welded to the side frames. A friend gave me the seat from a gravity chair so that will be used. It has fairly heavy duty eyelets along both sides and seems quite sturdy.
