This came in for work at the LBS:

The front tire was given the same treatment, except the valve was also held to the sidewall with a wrap of duct tape (yes, across the rim's brake tracks
). So it wouldn't slap against the fork blade, you see.
The motive was apparently that the rims are drilled for some oddball metal valve only found in Europe, called "presto" or something. I mean, just try to find those in the USA.
Then there's this one:

Too bad this guy with the drill didn't pool resources with the lady with the Presta-drilled rims

If they're willing to do crazy shti like that, why would they bring it in for service at all? In any case, a new tire would be worth more than either bike...
