Team SL 2005
Hey everyone! Long time reader but first time poster.
I'm currently looking to get into biking and I just wanted to know a rough estimate on how much a Team SL 2005 issue would be worth. My friend that is offering it says it has under 500 miles on it and the only thing wrong is the rear american classic 350 (its out of commission). Everything else on it is stock and ready to be used.
But yeah, thats my story. Any tips for a good price point, I don't wanna low ball him.

How will you ride it if the rear wheel is out of commission?

I plan on getting new 350's or something more expensive. And Menel please troll else where, I'm not asking for personal opinions on how you feel about the bike.

Still not even a price... so vague and lacking in detail yet you want advise.

Menel is not far Off.
New wheels, New tires and tubes would cost more then what the bike might be worth.

It basically stock and missing a rear wheel. How much more specific can you get. The mileage is less than 500 ish. I just wanted a ballpark of a price like 300,400,500 ish dollars?
Sorry for being vague, I am new to the whole bike scene

Team SL by all counts is a great frame/bike. Carbon steerer, all the ritchey control group stuff, it's nice specs.
Older Ultegra, but 10spd, so not obsolete.

REI has a brand new Cannondale, modern day equivalent $1999. Cut out what it's gonna cost you to get it ride-able???, then a sizeable chunk for being old, used, and no warranty.
Does it fit?
How in 500 miles do you destroy a wheel!?
Certain questions still surfacing.
edit: changed bike, I realized that was older, lesser Al bike.

There was some accident involving the rear wheel being hit so it was bent out of shape and unable to be trued again.
The only thing that is stopping me from getting the Team SL ridable is a set of wheels. And by the looks of it, maybe around 400 dollars. I was going to say if this bike is worth around 500 or less it would be a good purchase on my end. Unless its valued at less than 500.

you say the rear wheel is bad, what is the likelihood the RD is also bad? Personally if Everything else is perfect and you need new wheelset, I would bid way under $500, then get a pro fit and new wheels. 6 years is old for a fuji

A decent set of wheels will run $250+. If the bike had a usable set of wheels it would be worth about $600 IMHO. I would offer $350 and top off at $400. At that price with a good set of wheels, you will have $650 into it and I would say that is a fair price if it is in good condition.
