That has my time but you still haven't posted any for these friends.

I for one would like to visit your grandmother's blog. Unless the word "blog" is used as a metaphor for something else. If that's the case, please send pictures first. No fatties.

I love the false dichotomy being set up between "hipsters" and "track racers," like it's impossible to be into tricks, fashion and racing at the same time. I also love the shoddy logic behind valuing one type of cycling more than another, like doing tricks on your bike is somehow inherently less authentic than riding it at the velodrome. Bull.

I second that this whole thread is like high school again. Cant you both just put each other on ignore and quit arguing. I value information from both of you as I enjoy getting a wide perspective on things but all the arguing is just getting really old.

For the record I enjoy racing, cruising, doing tricks, and just generally being around all types of bikes.

How about everybody just tries to be the bigger man?

You're reading what you want into it. My problem with prolly isn't that he likes to **** around and do tricks it's that he thought he should buy a hed3 and a really nice track bike for doing this on. I know plenty of people that probably qualify as hipsters, probably including myself in some peoples eyes, who race, who I like and respect. None of them exhibit the bike as fashion first mentality that I've seen from prolly and his ilk.

He was the one that brought up the quality of my racing and driving to the track out of nowhere in this thread.

I do think the tricks are kinda dull and if fixed gear tricks continue for long the bikes won't resemble track bikes at all before long. That's not really a judgment of someone just for doing tricks on an at least moderately appropriate bike however.

I'm trying to find out whats wrong with wanting your bike to look good if it already performs? If the modification isnt decreasing performance, and the owner thinks it looks better, whats the big deal with it?

So, your entire critique of "prolly and his ilk" is what, exactly? That they use track bikes and track equipment in ways other than those for which they were explicitly designed? Wow. What a bunch of *******s.
