2019 3-2-1 Ride Pittsburgh
My wife and I are considering on entering this event. Have the routes changed from last year's ride though? I see that there are 17, 62 and 80 mile routes but no 7 or 25 mile routes. It all seems to be limited to riding on the Great Allegheny Passage - with the longer rides involving being bused out to remote starting locations and ending at the 17 mile's starting point. That's somewhat discouraging as my wife and I just rode the 25 mile loop of Pedal Pittsburgh and enjoyed it - especially the sections through the city's many parks - but felt the GAP trail near the city and out to McKeesport is somewhat uninspiring.
Is BikePGH no longer involved with this event? Their message board makes no mention of it.

Realizing this is a very old topic. I'm curious as to whether or not such an event still exists. Being in the Youngstown area this would be a welcomed event. I'll keep an eye out.

Pedal Pittsburgh
Yes, this year has been rather light with events in the area, hasn’t it? We used to ride more events every season. We would ride Bridges & Vines Bicycle Tour over there in Ashtabula county, Ohio and Sprague Brewing’s Gears to Beer around Venango, PA but sadly both have ended as of 2020 and 2022 respectively. Here are some in the area we know of that will happen this year:
Tour De Donut (June 6, 2023)

PedalPGH (August 27, 2023)

We also missed East End Brewing’s Keg Ride (April 15, 2023)

It’s also in Pittsburgh but starts in the east end of the city (which is higher in elevation than where the bikePGH events start downtown/north shore) so the return leg is brutal since the mid-ride break is at a bar.

The bright side is that the main brewery (where things start) is next door to the Wheel Mill, an indoor riding park:

So TLDR we used to go to 5 rides a season but are down to 2. Of course, I’m also drinking less afterward. Now I just need to sweat off the sweets too.
