Now, if only I could get rid of those wireless mice.

Cute. It may well be good, although I don't think I'd trust that Banana seat.

Giant 29er frame, wheels, Fox fork & more (Eugene) $800

My bike was stolen and ridden to the crook's house and then dismantled.
A few parts were recovered by the cops and I want to sell them altogether.

Bike was $2k new.

I didn't ride a lot and most of it was on bike paths, rarely off-road. And it was never ridden in the rain.

I'm done riding and want these remains out of of my house - it's depressing having them here.
It will go to the highest offer with $800 as the minimum (at least for now).

I've looked at things like forks, and the prices can be pretty extreme, but it just seems a bit ambitious with the pricing.

Who knew Specialized started out as an XMart bike maker?

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/bik/d...681006575.html
That's definitely a Specialized, because there's no way to change the seat on a bike.

Similarly, who knew that Schwinn makes "Diamondback girls" bikes (or would it be the other way 'round...)?

Dude has listed it at least THREE times, with no change in the price or anything. Evidently no one's clued him in to what this.... thing really is.

I usually never do this, but I actually sent the seller an e-mail. Price has been reduced........ a bit

Here's the exchange - the owner responded gracefully (despite my possibly overly frank message)

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for the info!

I had tried in vain to get an estimate as to its value, and instead found out that pricing on vintage bikes is hard to place & values are all over the board. In this case, I wanted to err on the side of caution & ended up doing so exceedingly!
Your information is most valuable & I appreciate your reaching out with a helping hand. I am going to be repricing immediately!
Regards!

Subject: Vintage bike on CL

Just worth noting that the bike you have listed for $1500 is worth no more than $50-75, and was probably under $100 when new. It is a low-grade, "gaspipe" steel frame with low grade components.
FWIW Kent is on the same level as Huffy and Murray - department store bicycles.

Anyway, just hoping to provide some context to help actually make a sale.

Best of luck!

This only qualifies for "The Wacky World..." because of its radically unconventional aesthetic. Personally I think it's supercool, even as it goes against everything I would ever do in terms of a build. And hey, it's not every day you see rattlesnake rims!
It ain't cheap though.

WW bonus points for photographer's feet in the frame. Double bonus for no socks.

I think he needs to ventilate that paint space a little better, if you know what I mean....

What? No points for the possibly spray painted shoes or the wire wheeled bench grinder? (He writes he sands the frames. I don't see no sandpaper...)

I remember those brakes. Had them in the stand once or twice many years ago. Someone needs to buy this bike and report back about waking up at night screaming about riding and working on them.

I think the fork was re-contoured as is often done with the bikes without brakes.

Is this what happens when a cyclist takes a Basket Weaving class?

The details on the bike are pretty extraordinary, although I'm a bit surprised it doesn't actually include a BASKET???

That would be redundant, don't you think?
Here's a wicker-wrapped bike that does include a basket. And it's a bike you can actually ride.
