I went for a ride today, mostly along the infamous Neal Lerner Invitational route. Those who have done this ride will no doubt be familiar with the South Store Cafe, a regular stopping point for @gugie and me. It was a sad site today. Their sign board, which usually features clever slogans like "Perfect Hominy" instead said this:

Here's hoping it won't be long.

Ride reports and pics are always welcome.

I got out yesterday (which was today yesterday but would yesterday by yesterday's tomorrow, if you follow me, seein' as how I wanted to post this yesterday).

34 miles on the '77 Gazelle. Temps in the lower 40's when I started, upper 40's when I got home, a fierce wind out of the northwest. Lots of cyclists out plus many more walkers than in the old days.

In sunshine

and in shadow

Most trees are still awaiting spring

I really like the feel of this frame, quick, responsive. I'm still not sold on the trip crank yet.

There's a nesting pair here and you can see them most days if you stop for a couple minutes. I love seeing them patrol the river as I ride by.

Nice to see that Gazelle out again, jimmuller ! That solid orange works very well.

Me, I didn't get any further than doing a minor adjustment on my Nöll, so I had an excuse to go out for a short test ride. It was sunny, but a cold wind, blowing from the east, made it less comfy than it looks.

Right around freezing this morning in the Boston area, but wind was light and sun warm. I did a familiar loop on the Holdsworth, which included a section through Weston town forest:

Practiced some social distancing this morning with a 22.5 mile ride around the outskirts of Visalia and into Mooney Grove Park... It's actually the first time I've stood beside the rather famous statue "End of the Trail" statue as an adult, even though I've mostly lived within 20 miles of the place since I was born!

My wife and I were vacationing on a mountainside in southern Jamaica last week, away from all the craziness. Home yesterday, and it was necessary for me to stock up the place, so off to see what Manhattan pandemic shopping is like...totally pleasant! The neighborhood Trader Joe's had a socially-distanced line of about 2 dozen souls waiting as they managed how many folks were in the store at once. I stood no more than 5 minutes. Inside it was fully stocked and calm, pleasant even. Normally Sundays are crowded, a little tense and lots of products are sold out. 4 bags later, I was home. Easy peasy, your mileage may vary. Now to enjoy some duty-free rum.

Fourth consecutive day of riding, fourth different bike. Went down to Seattle, then across the 520 Bridge to make my return via Bel-Red Road. Prolly around 45 miles today. It was a bit chillier than the past three days, so I wore knickers and a jacket, too.

The Medici got the nod today. I tell you, this bike is absolutely wonderful. The ride is really something else - I think this may well be my favorite rider

Anyway, here a few pics.

With recent rain here in SoCal a huge portion of the bike trail near me was closed. I guess alot of debris and dirt washed onto the trail. Did a quick 10 miles and continued 30 minutes on the home trainer.

last minute on the trainer when my wife began recording

An unusual ride for me today. I delivered some PPE from my son's house to the Portland Fire Marshal's office:

One week ago North Carolina shut down all schools and business except grocery stores. I have ridden only 10 miles in last week as we had a lot of rain .
One day last week old downtown Concord had no cars on the main streets. Nothing was open.

Forty minutes on the Peloton this morning, then 30 minutes on the tractor, clearing snow. I simply can't wait for Spring to get here... again.

Beautiful images. Sorry to hear about the family troubles, I hope they aren't too serious, and dissipate soon.
About the two digit temps, I'm betting you're talking about the low end, as two digits include 99 degrees.

Did the 25 mile Cambridge reservoir loop today with the Cambridge Vitus 979 club. Averaged 16.5mph and passed one piece of expensive carbon in a blistering paceline. When I saw the Specialized ahead of us, my buddy asks me "why you workin me so hard?" to which I respond simply "prey". To be fair, the guy couldn't tuck so he'd lost it on the downhill already.
What fun
