Pedicab/Rickshaw information

Sorry in advance if this is posted in the wrong forum. Yesterday I picked this gem up:

I plan on using it as part of my wedding in October. Anyway, it is a weird hodge-podge of features (single-speed, rod brakes, 24" wheels and a smaller frame, stiff(ish) springs in back). I haven't got time to look over it yet, but I'm wondering if anyone has information on this model or can direct me to a better spot to find out more. I'm looking to, at least, rebuild the mechanicals prior to the wedding. (It is somehow rust free so I don't believe I'll need to do anything cosmetic). Any help would be appreciated.

I used to see cheap pedicabs new on Ebay, but I don't think they were rod-brake versions. Definitely want to avoid any hilly place due to brake issues.

Everything here is FLAT, which is the main reason we went ahead and bought it. Between the single speed and the rod brakes, I can't imagine I'd even want to tackle anything resembling a hill.

I agree, and I absolutely will. I didn't want to get a limo or something overdone, so I figure it's an excuse to get another bike and when one popped up within riding distance of my house... No brainer! It was actually my fiancee's idea, I think having our bikes in some of our engagement photos maybe stuck with her?

Yup most likely India. What kind of parts are you going to need? Some of the old Raleigh rod brake bits and pieces should fit. I have seen a couple of these over the years but they are an oddity.

Actually, all the parts are there, I'm just wondering what it is and what some practical upgrades would be. Brakes seem cruddy, of course, so fix those maybe. Need some tires all around too, but I don't know if I'd need something a little tougher than a standard 24" tire/tube combo. I just literally have no idea.

Also the basket will be gone! No need for it with all that underseat storage.

If they are the standard rod brakes some Kool stop pads (if they will fit). I wouldn't worry too much about getting high end tires unless you plan to ride it a lot. Just get new rubber on it. Clean it up, lube and decorate.

Hello there. This is a long shot but do you still have this and would it be for sale. I am very interested in getting one of these and going travelling on it. Thank you. Dale
