Felt like the fat kid I used to be this morning. Sucking wind most of the ride and heart felt like it was in my throat. Blaming it on fatigue do to crappy people at crappy hotels.

I went to the club ride start and the only ones wanting to do the ride I wanted were the 2 speedsters I rode with last week. We set off to the corner of the valley to climb out but it was raining so we went a different way and caught up to another guy we know and headed into the Santa Monica mountains and dropped him off where he was to meet another rider..
After a while I told the others to go ahead because I would slow them down too much on the climbs. They did but they encountered another woman we know going the other way and they were chatting so long that I caught up. We stayed together (sort of) for some more climbing until they suggested going into town for some lunch.
The ladies went inside to order and I asked for a scone. She bought me a giant pannini instead. Of course, I ate the whole thing and struggled on the little climbs afterward. 2 weeks in a row someone has bought my lunch.

Got out for a ride with a few members of my crew and a few from another. It was an easy ride, but I was running late, so I had to hammer the 8 miles or so to the meet-up point and then, when I finally peeled off and headed home, I had to deal with a pretty serious headwind... so, uh, yeah, it was a polarized ride.
In exciting bike schwag news, I had a 20% off coupon and REI dividends burning a hole in my pocket, so I picked up a Wahoo Tickr Fit this morning. It's an optical, HRM armband, so I reduced my manboobage by a good 40% with that move, which is nice.

Got up this morning and forced myself to do a zwift ride. Not good. I've lost a ton of fitness in 3 weeks. 220 watts average. 140 max heart rate? That seems low. Could it be from the vaccine? Chest feels a bit congested today too. Numb friken hands today too, that really sucks. It's arthritis related somehow? Thumbs are not happy with me today.

I don’t have an answer for you, but you make me feel better about my situation. Thanks.

Dan's activity doesn't look unusual. His name was changed and pic removed, though.

Welp, evidence seems to indicate that I can't get by eating nothing but wings and pizza all day.
I even had oatmeal with raisins, craisins, almonds, and walnuts in for breakfast, and my GI tract is still destroyed.

They don’t really go together, but he took a rock climbing class at school, and has been out climbing in Austin. Decided he likes it, and wanted his own shoes and harness. We’re glad he’s doing something that requires physical exercise and effort.

FWIW, I've always wanted to give climbing a whirl, too.
