2015 Tour de Cure Washington DC
2nd Running of this event. Last year it successfully raised a ton of $$ for the American Diabetes Association.
I rode the full length last year (50 miles) and it was a neat experience.
It's not too often you get to ride on some of the car only roads here in the Nation's Capital, but the route was quite cool.
It's a late September ride, and this year's weather was perfect.
Route started near the white house along Pennsylvania Ave, went into the 9th street tunnel, hopped over to Haines Point, then went up the wrong side of the E street Expressway onto the Whitehurst and out Canal to MacArthur and through Potomac/lower Montgomery County. (Strava Activity from my ride )
The first 15 miles or so are all on closed roads that aren't normally available for cyclists to ride.
Pretty decent SAG the whole ride, and good markings for turns etc.
I'm registered to ride in 2015.
Folks interested can join me, or if you're willing, donate towards my ride.
