Well as pure dumb luck would have it, while looking into listing a bike on Craigslist on Monday I ran across an ad for another ParkPre! Looked to be the perfect size for my wife so I went and took a look. It's in incredible shape - as if somebody took it on a handful of rides and then hung it in the garage. It's all original but just needs dusting off and some new tires.

I'll get some pictures once I get it cleaned up and the new tires on there.

I bought this mail-order Access Comp in '90. It's been through a few changes. All that is original is the frame (Columbus tubing) with it's splatter paint, the seatpost, headset, seatpost quick release and handlebars.

I wish I still had my '94 Trek 970 Singletrack, with the green to purple fade and anno purple GripStix climbing bars; with or without the Manitou Magnum fork. It got stolen with our T2000 tandem in 2000.

I have since upgraded the backyard to Akita 2.1 and Golden Shepherd 1.0, and have suffered no similar losses.

I have my Mongoose Switchback that I got at a bike shop, I believe the year before Mongoose became a Wal-Mart special.



Has roughly 10,000 miles on it, starting with riding singletrack a lot in high school, then was my commuter for a while, shown now in its latest usage.

Seems like a lot, but I've had it for nearly 25 years, and rode a LOT many of those years. replaced teh back wheel (new hub), drivetrain, bottom bracket, and front wheel bearings, but other than that the replacements have been standard expendables (tires/tubes, brake pads/cables/chains) or for comfort (seat, handgrips). A heavy chunk of shaped chrome/moly really doesn't wear out.

I still have and ride my 1990 Trek 850 Antelope MTB. It's now 22 years old, in good condition, and serves me well.

I still have my '94 Kona Kilauea. I used to race it back in '94 thru '96, then it was demoted to a commuter bike. I commuted on it regularly for 15 years until I switched jobs a few years ago. I need to give that bike some love. I didn't realize that bike was becoming a classic already. I still have all of the original components for it.....time for a full restoration!

I have a Colnago and a Luigi Fontana from the early '90s, also a Colnago Master from '86. The MTB I commuted on for over a decade is a '90 Merlin Ti. My wife still has her '90 Trek 930. Our MTB tandem is a steel '86 Gary Fisher.

Had to come out of lurking for this thread. My dad bought me this Mongoose Switchback from a bike store before I could drive. I can remember how the bike shop smelled. Even then, in the early-to-mid 90s, it was rare to find a "mom and pop" bike shop. I rode it all over creation until I turned 16. He patiently stored it inside all these many years until this past year, when he brought it up here as a kind of housewarming present. Apparently the Mongoose Switchback makes a very excellent trail-a-bike tractor. Or at least jmilleronaire and I think so:



Picked up some Kenda Commuter slick tires this weekend. Hoping to get a Nashbar trekking handlebar (or some other affordable butterfly bar), some fenders, and a rack. Or as my wife says, "basically, a new bike."

Not too fancy, but it's pretty cool because of how long I've had it. My parents bought me this Diamondback Outlook for my 10th birthday. It was too big for me then, but I grew into it over the years. It did some duty as my first single speed mountain bike back in 2004 when I got into cycling again. Then the frame just kinda kicked around in various garages/basements for a while til I decided to rebuild it to be my work bike, pulling a rickshaw trailer. I work doing that for a guy who is a manager at one of the local shops so it kicked around back there for a bit too, almost getting thrown away twice and donated to the local bike co-op. Bent the dropouts back into shape, slapped some cheap but working parts on it, and now I'm not trashing my Dirt Research by using it to pedicab anymore.



I use it to commute to work via mountain bike trails every once in a while as well, fun times!

P.S. I'd post a pic of the Dirt Research too but it's in the middle of getting turned into a 1x8 for riding trails.

I bought this KHS from a neighbor who was moving about 5 years ago. I rode it as a daily commuter most of last summer.
It is my search for a new hybrid to replace the KHS that has brought me to this forum.

90's?! No. But I do have three steel mountain bikes (two Stumpjumpers and one Ritchie Ascent) from the '80s (one of the Stumpjumpers is my daily commuter) and an aluminum one (Cannondale) too (the aluminum one is the only one I bought new, in 1987). Sorry, no pix.

I rode in to work today on my 1993 or so Trek 8000. It is white with blue splatter on it, aluminum, and is still all original except I put slicks on it for city riding since it only once saw a dirt trail. The parts are Deore DX with thumb shifters, with canti brakes. Its been a nice bike and I'm the original owner. My older bikes are both roadies, those are from 1981 and 1983 and I thought they were both getting old too when I bought the Trek. I also have my CF Kuota, which is no longer new either I guess, 7 years old.

1. 1994 Trek 850. Was my only bike for 3 years and did both commuting and MTB. As I've expanded my collection, it has evolved into primarily a commuter ready for bad weather:

I've been the only owner for either. Both frames have well over 10,000 miles on them.

I recently picked up a Specialized Hardrock Sport (I think it's from the early 90s) for my daughter from CL for $80 which she has been riding all over the place:
