Commuter 3 2014 v 2015

First time poster, so hi everyone.

I am getting my wife a bike for her birthday. After a good number of test rides of different bikes, she has decided on a Jamis Commuter 3, as she loves the handle bar set up and the internal gear hub. We both don't know much about bike components, although we have been doing some research for the purchase. Our local bike shop gave us an option of either a 2014 or 2015 model. Pricewise they are both in-budget and the difference is not enough to be a significant factor. There may be some differences in order time, and I should know more on that in a day or so.

My question is all else equal, which is better, the 2014 or 2015 model?

Thank you!

Got any links? Jamis' site isn't showing the archive properly right now.

Too hard to read the PDF, and the pic is lame. I'd go for the color I like best, and given only what I can imagine, I'd take the '15 White one -waiting if I had to, unless I can save at least 25% and I like the '14 color option. Welcome to the Forums and happy birthday and riding to your wife.

Meh. The '14 has better tires, the '15 looks like the fenders provide more coverage. Both are all alloy, which isn't going to give a super ride. The '14's fork has curved blades which should at least help a bit. If you can test ride them both first, that would be the best way to make a decision.

A Commuter 3 was my winter commuter for a few years, it had an older style non-red band nexus hub gear. The hub worked very well, it was a good bike.
