What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That is really for the 'Hot or Not' thread but using discretion to create better bike is always appreciated in other threads as well.

Actually, not sure if i'm going to build this up anymore. The more and more I go over the geomotry, the more I enjoy my madone. The bike is amazing, but the headtube is tiny and i'm not sure if I can pull that off. We'll see.

If it does get built up it'll be bontrager xxx lite everything and RED.

I love it! It looks like it is in pretty good condition. Does the grip shift still work?

I am all about throwing modern groups on 80s and 90s frames but I vote leave this one be.

The grip shifts work great... Took it for a quick spin this morning and everything worked great. The grip-shifts aren't original equipment, they were swapped over from DT shifters previously in the bikes life. Somewhere along the line, it also got newer Shimano 105 DP brakes, newer Shimano 105 RD and a 7-speed freehub setup (from 6-sp freewheel).

As for plans... Not really sure... I'm not a fan of the grip shifts, so they will eventually be replaced, but not sure what I'm going to go with yet; probably just going with barcons.

I didn't notice the newer comonents on my phones screen. I'm not much of a gripshift fan but something about it just looks right on that bike.

My new 53cm Volagi Liscio. To break it in properly I took it up the steepest climb in Silicon Valley.

Nice Volagi. looks like it should be quite compliant in the rear end.

The problem is, you can plainly see from the picture I posted, those aren't stock parts. They came with Shimano 600 or 105 series components. Still a cool ass bike. Those grip shifters have always intrigued me.

Hell yeah. That is one sweet ass bike. Nice to see someone finally boasting a Volagi of their own. Clearly it is a climbing machine. Enjoy the f' out of that thing.

Ima grit my teeth and tell you that I currently ride a Schwinn Prelude. I upgraded the rear derailleur and put some aero bars on it. It rides good enough for my 15 to 25 mile rides after work 3 or 4 days a week. A new bike is on the horizon though.

this was already addressed... RD model can not plainly be seen on a picture the size of a postage stamp. regardless of the non OEM parts, i would still be tempted to leave this one grip shift.

Love that Volagi. Those disc brakes look very cool too. I'd love to try one up in the mountains. I'm sure it brakes very well. What does your Volagi weigh with disc brakes anyways?

Nice bike. I like the subtle updates with the red tape. May I ask what saddle is that? I like it!
