For Sale: 24” Motobecane Grand Jubilee

For Sale: 24” Motobecane Grand Jubilee. I believe this to be a 1975 model.

This came into our local not-for-profit bike co-op — I am selling this for the co-op, and all funds will go to the co-op.

Huret Jubilee derailleurs, Stronglight crankset and headset, Normandy hubs and Weinmann concave rims, Weinmann centerpull brakes. Pivo handlebars. Pedals are not original, and are MKS. Avocet saddle.

The bike also comes with a Silca Impero pump with Campagnolo pump clip and Campagnolo pump head. The pump does work.

Overall the bike is in good condition, but needs a good cleaning -- spent decades in a dry storage, so no real rust, just dust and congealed oil and grease. The shifters and brake cables work fine, although you might want to replace them if you’ll ride the bike. The seat binder bolt is bent, it obviously needs new bar tape and needs new tubes and tires.

$350 plus shipping at cost using bikeflights or shipbikes. I will pack it carefully at no charge.

If the price is way off base, PM me and I will take it to the Co-op
Thanks

Nice bike! I was about to say the price may be a hair high, then noticed the long-cage Huret Jubilee, so rather: a nice deal. Those are pretty sought after. Looks like a solid, unmolested project for somebody.

Your price is more than fair. Bike is in great shape and lots of desirable components.

@mountaindave this could be a great place holder until that red/black one shows up

Mighty tempting, and its not even my size. Dig the selection of components and just enough quirkiness to keep it interesting. A nice preservation project.

Gotta be the oddball that jumps out there and claims loving the silver/black way more than red/black. I've owned both and always felt the silver/black was just more svelte and machine-like.
