Hi everyone

I am kinda new to this sub-forum, I have responded to some of the subjects but haven't introduced myself.

I am 61, newly retired after 35 years in the same job, ridden a bike for years. I am also a Clyde, home bike mechanic, do some touring annually (hopefully this will increase).

I am located in Nebraska, so it has been cold lately and have been riding on the trainer but try to get some outside miles when it is over 40 degrees.

Welcome aboard the forum, we are all looking forward to some warmer weather right now, in the eastern half of the country. Hang in there man!

Welcome to retirement. It's great.

Have we seen pics of the Eisentraut, Zullo, & retired Masi?

Welcome to the "Every part of my body is breaking down" sub-forum .... I do not believe I have ever cycled in Nebraska ..... I am also a Clyde, home bike mechanic, but I don't do much touring any more----I need to retire ... right after I get hired somewhere with a Really good retirement plan.

Glad to know you are at least a little crazy .... I mean, if you have read what goes on here and decided to join anyway ....

A few bike pics would go a long way towards getting you secret membership upgrade status (but don't tell anyone ... it's secret.)

Ah ,,, i see others have also requested pictures ....

Welcome to the old folks club. Glad you joined us.
Nebraska? Let me see. If I remember right that's kinda close to Canada. Too cold for me.

Glad to have a fellow home mechanic aboard! I have been a member of this group since it started, and I owe my current state of health and fitness more to bicycling than any other single factor. I trust you'll come to enjoy this sub-forum as much as I have -- a delightful group of men and women.

So .... the Giant/Colnago fooled me. The headtube angle on the Zulio scares me even through the interntet.

I love the C’dale except I have no experience with a headshock but it looks like a commuting demon.

I like all the rest, but the Masi with a triple caught my eye and the Gunnar grabbed both eyes.

Oh, and the front rack on the Jamis----pure art.

Welcome! I spent several days riding across the northern part of Nebraska. The sandhill Region was very enjoyable but the relentless winds afterwards made it a memory I’d rather forget!?!?!?

I attended the College World Series a few years ago, it was held at the new stadium downtown. Great event! Last I heard Omaha was getting new large Data Centers who enjoy the abundance of fiber capacity and the availability of wind energy.

That sounds great, I will look into that ride, I am already scheduled to ride GOBA this summer, but should have a lot of extra time to ride now.

Welcome, indeed. In a few more years, you'll be eligible for the 65-85+ thread, too. (I am already) It's ok to hang out both places. (But you beat me to retirement)

Had a most fantastic experience in Ogallala, Nebraska. Broke down on a cross country motorcycle trip. An old fella running a gas station was closing up as I pushed my bike in. He was so very kind, and new exactly where to look for the trouble, and told me what I'd find if he was correct. Well, he was and he looked at the broken alternator brush and said that if looked like a 74 Pinto brush would fit. He drove me to the auto parts store that was closing up and we got the brush and he soldered it in. Never had another problem with it. Warm fuzzies about Nebraska, well, except for those pesky Corn Huskers!

Since I'm just a beginner at retirement, I haven't decided what to do yet. It's nice doing things on my schedule.
