Rescued again
8 miles into my ride, got bad gassy and bloated, and neck pain. Wife picked me up. 220 beautiful miles this month, and crash on the last day. Next month will be better.

Maybe check out some antacids or something. For sure don't go out on a full stomach with greasy fried chicken in it. I know that first hand. I once stopped midway on a 100 mile ride and bought some fried chicken. The next 20 miles or so were miserable. Thankfully my stomach settled down for the last 30.
I usually start my rides on a mostly empty stomach as far as solid food. If I do eat prior, I usually just eat carb's and avoid high amounts of fat and protein.

Assuming rude is ride, then good. I'm finally getting to ride more regularly too and hoping to get back to accumulating mileage.

I used to have toast with one cup of black coffee before a ride. I started getting cramps about five miles in and a couple of times it was really bad. I tried getting off the bike and taking a break but once or twice I had to use my get out of jail free card and call my wife. Since then I decided not to eat before my ride and I feel a lot better. I take a granola bar with me and eat a few bits after about 15 miles with no bad side effects . I usually put supplements in my water and have a full glass of water when I wake up so I am well hydrated. Joe. joesvintageroadbikes.wordpress
