Two Raleighs and an Olmo?
That seems weirdly familiar.....

not a package deal, though.

A older gentleman trying to get back on his bikes after more than a decade saw one of my craigs ads and started asking me a bunch of questions about rebuilding his fleet. Through several emails, I helped him out quite a bit. But I guess he found his back trouble to be too much to overcome. He ended up dropping off three lower-mid level bikes at my door for free: two Univegas and a really cool looking Centurion. I tried to pay him, but he was stubborn. I flipped all during a height of the c&v market and kept his vintage San Remo water bottle, which I still use often.

My score would have to be this Zunow for $90

in that condition it was worth $90.

As it is now.

It would not have come with the Rally or triple.

I’ve already posted these in another thread but for those who haven’t seen I’ll gloat again. 72/73 Motobecane Grand Record and 72/73 Motobecane Le Champion. I bought the Grand Record for $75.00 and the Le Champion for $50.00. Both bikes came from the same seller on the same day.

Grand Record

Le Champion
Both bikes came With sets of Campagnolo Tipo (kidney bean) hubs. I have yet to restore either bike but so far my total investment is $125.00. Not a bad starting point.

I've met and ridden with 54 BF members, and I hope to add to that this year. That's my gloat.

Bragging? I just finished a modern used buy/build, and it doesn't suck. $1100 with spare wheels and bits. Not a steel steal, but 15.87 lbs with loaded wedge bag, lights fore and aft.

Wow ! I can't compete with those but just yesterday I did get my 1st free bike for being known as a "bike guy", so hopefully down the road I'll have more or come across a dump find with as much potential as those. The freebie is this Giant Sedona ATX needing work & cleaning.

As far as good deals, this recent '89 LeTour CL purchase for $40 is probably my best deal. It really didn't need much, just lubing and tires/saddle change out and I added a quill stem extender.

bwilli88 The bike is a C.Bertrand & Co. probably from the late 30s early 40s. I started a thread about it a few weeks ago, called "Is it really 100 years old" and with the help of the forum members have been able to figure it out.

I found a yellow Turbo and a rather fresh pair of Shimano 600 6400 pedals with clips to put on the Basso Gap.

When they take up too much room and they aren't selling, and you have little to no cost tied up in them.

$70 without a front wheel. I figure the wheel was stolen and the po never got around to replacing it. That owner gave it to an employee who never got around to replacing it. You guys know that a thread like this is likely to depress prices.

What a great thread...I purchased this minty 83 Specialized Sequoia a couple months ago from the original owner for $75. Fits me like a second set of skin.

dang... a great frame with some wonderful SunTour and Sugino parts!
You got a great deal, but also possibly kept the bike from an unfortunate fate.

I'd buy a little prefab barn and put them in it bumper to bumper before I'd be rid of those two classics! Nice catches!
