TA Chainrings Replacement for Campy Chorus Triple?
Has anyone had experience replacing Campy Chorus Triple chainrings with TA chainrings (50/40/30)? Branford has these and Peter White has them.
I have a Phil bottom bracket that is asymmetrical. My first inclination was to replace the entire crankset with the Campy Comp Triple. But I was told by LickBike that that would not work because it is intended to be used with a symmetrical Phil BB.
So my option is to either replace the chainrings or to replace the BB and crankset, which would be more expensive. The TA chainrings are expensive and a set cost about as much as the Campy Comp triple crankset so I want to make sure they will work.

Do you have to replace all 3 rings?
I used TA chainring on a Chorus triple, they lasted longer than the original Campagnolo rings.

I took the 30's off my <C> triples got 3 new ones to shed.
Fit? if the BCD is 135, OK , the middle one is ramped and pinned so make sure you don't get a double [39t?]

Thanks for the replies. All three chainrings have to be replaced. I called Peter White and they are sending a TA 50/40/30 set.
I was concerned about performance and compatibility, but I am told that I will find no difference in performance.
I am disappointed that Campy does not support replacements for their Chorus triple crankset. This crankset was purchased in 2006 and I would have thought that replacement chainrings would be available 5 years later.

I agree with fietsbob - if you're changing the rings anyway then why not make the inner ring more useful by reducing the size. I'd recommend a 28 or 26, the drop to a 24 is pretty extreme. I've used lots of TA rings on lots of different cranks and have been happy with them all.

I have a Jamis touring bike that I might experiment with, especially when biking in southwest WI. But the Mondonico stays at 30. I find it gives me the high cadence I like without sacrificing too much power.
I'm glad to hear of other folks that are using TA chainrings and that there is an alternative to Campy replacements. I had never heard of them them before, always just buying Campy.

Campy triples are basically a racing double with a granny thrown in. IMO it's not the best of combinations. A more useful crank would be something like 48/38/28 or similar. Sugino's XD600 is much better designed.
