Paint this Giant Cadex?

So I have this Giant Cadex. Nice frame, no joint problems, but the painted portions have some scratches. More than I would like. I was thinking of wet sanding off all the paint and then clearcoating the tubes. Is this a crime? Opinions? I'll likely just sell it anyways, but might make it look pretty.

If you're going to sell it, don't paint it. Not sure if Cadex frames are particularly valuable on the market but original paint will generally sell for more than a repainted frame.

I've seen a few Cadex frames of similar vintage that have had their clearcoats stripped and reapplied with excellent results. I think repro decals are available out there.
Only thing with eliminating the opaque painted sections would be that you will be most likely changing the looks to an earlier model year. Some might be bothered by that and some won't. Really depends on what you are planning to do with the bike (keep it or sell it?).
If I were keeping it and riding it, I won't hesitate taking that silver paint and those decals off it, as I think the all clearcoat versions looks much better anyway. JMO.

ok. The naked carbon sections look nice. So I was hoping it would then look this nice throughout.

Love the early Cadex frames that are unpainted. The whole thing has that cosmetic carbon weave. Had one, but it became very corroded at the lugs so I repurposed it. If you strip the silver off, I think you will be pleased with the weave look.

Thank you. I was hoping somebody would motivate me and give me courage.
