Looking for a place to buy a built up Generator Front Wheel

Looking for a place to buy a built up Shimano Generator Front Wheel - DH-3N80 Hub with a Sun CR-18 700C Rim.

Any suggestions besides Peter White and Harris cycles? I have to call Peter for a price and availability (just have not done so yet) and Harris is out of stock with no ETA.

I would say Peter White is your best bet. Peter won't let a wheel leave his store without personally checking it himself, even if he didn't build the wheel. Also keep in mind that generator hubs are becoming increasingly popular (some blame the bike manufacturers for the shortage), so they may be in short supply wherever you go.

I CAN NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE MORE THAN... Percy Wheeler at Percy Cycles Portland Maine. If you do contact him, tell him that Ian recommended him. Just read his story on his Website. I am so glad to have him locally. He is a huge mentor for me, and hand guided me through lacing my generator wheel-set. He just opened a new boutique studio in building surrounded by artists, because he is an artist when it come to bikes and wheels. HE WILL STAND BY HIS WHEELS. And they carry my clydesdale mass well.

Can I say more?

I bought one from Peter last month - the DH-3N80 was out of stock, he did, however, have the DH-3N81 in stock as well as the Schmidt. My CR-18's are 26".
The 81 is supposed to be lighter than the 80 - from reading descriptions of it on a couple other websites - Shimano has the same service diagram for both hubs.
I like it, but I can only compare it to the sidewall dynamo that I had before - no more worries about the sidewall gen getting knocked out out alignment. You can feel a slight bit of resistance when starting off (even when the lights are turned off) that you don't with a normal hub.
I haven't had the chance to ride in heavy rain/sleet/snow yet to really appreciate the hub yet.
We are supposed to get a bit of winter weather tomorrow, can't wait to try it out. Might even have to mount the studs.

You can also just buy the hub and have someone build it locally. That is wat I did for mine. PW can be a bit of a pain to deal with sometimes. YMMV.

Percy sounds like the type of entrepreneur and small-shop owner that we should support. Definitely see if he can fix you up. If he doesn't have what you need, you could try Hiawatha Cyclery at

https://www.hiawathacyclery.com/cart/...9bd4f7194d9ca2

I haven't dealt with Hiawatha before, but I have much enjoyed the Schmidt hubs and Hiawatha seems to have them on their website.

Check out Anthony King at Longleaf Cycles. He's my local dude, but most of his work leaves his shop by FedEx.

I can vouch for Anthony's skills. North Texas misses him.
