I'm not entirely sure which elected officials your petition is intended for. I don't think Governor Cuomo has a whole lot of say in the matter but Bloomberg, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, and City Counsel Speaker Chris Quinn, the Central Park Conservancy, and DOT Commissioner Janet Sadik-Kahn would be good choices.

New York Cycle Club which uses Central Park heavily will also be circulating a hard-copy petition for Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

Signed it a few days ago, but doubt if it'll do anything.

Well there are almost 1000 signatures. I figure that if a lot of people sign it, then more media outlets may report on it, which makes more people aware of it, more signatures, more discussion, then maybe we get someone's attention.

Riding in the park today you'd be amazed how many people don't even know the "crackdown" is happening.

I signed your petetion yesterday, then went to Central Park for a ride....Interupeted by 3 rider's who thought cos they has tights on, they could just creep up on you leaving no room for margin of error.........SLOW DOWN or make other rider's aware that YOU, Almighty are PASSING.....Came down the West Side Bicycle path...nice ride if I ignorged the Rider who commented on me not wearing a helmet as HE BLEW THROUGH THE RED LIGHT, as I stopped for the Red....I wear my helmet when I ride the streets..Maybe sometimes on a bicycle path....Sometimes I think that there are some rider's who think they are the coolest in New York City...Humble yourself............Just wanted to vent........Thanks

Maybe this ticketing crackdown will stop certain riders from blowing though red lights on Street like they have no sense whatsoever.

What is the flow of traffic in the Loop? you see riders riding with traffic and against it.

The crazy riders are a problem that impacts us all.

The delivery guys that go down the streets the wrong way or in the center of the street are also a issue.

the flow of traffic is counter-clockwise relative to North. it is illegal for a bike to ride against the flow of traffic, but i dont think it's ever enforced.

the delivery guys outside the park are definitely a problem. Transportation Alternatives and the Upper West Side Renaissance are working to educate and direct enforcement at those problems
