Has anyone ever heard of an Eclipse Tricycle? it is from the 1880's

I recently found a children's "tiller style" Eclipse Tricycle, mfg by C.C. & Co. New Haven CT. patented 1880. It has wooden wheels, wooden pedals and wooden handle bar. Does anyone have any information on these? I haven't been able to find anything. This tricycle is in excellent shape considering the age. The seat is a little tatered, but thats about all that's wrong with it. Any leads or help would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet may be through patent research

Thank you for your reply. I am trying everything to find out more about this tricycle. I did purchase it, so I should have more photos to share.

Try looking up Velocopede which was the name for a tricycle in that era

Hello,i just purchased one just like that except mine has metal pedals and over the years some one changed the fork going down to the wheel. as it was welded on. Would it be possible for you to take a photo of the front assembly (steering) I have tried to find information but have not bin successful. . It needs some restoration and I am trying to get as close to original as possible.
I cannot send you a photo of mine as I am too new. If you would like to see a photo of my tricycle send me your email and I will forward you a photo.
My email is s.pbuchanan@eastlink.ca
