Finally, got the bike I always wanted!!
I just bought a new bike, so I figured Id share the experience!
Always wanted the Felt F55 2005 model, I like it better than the 2006 because of the color scheme. I drooled over it all summer last year when I was riding my 2003 F65 (which I loved, just didnt fit me well). I sold the F65 the other day and was ready to buy a new bike for this season, after all the research and riding I did last year. So, after checking all bike stores for closeouts, calling everywhere, couldnt find anything from 2005. I started looking at other brands, testing bikes, looking to find something that I liked as much as my old bike. I was willing to spend over $2000 to find the perfect bike for me.
Today, I went into another bike shop to check out the newer Felts for the third time, and also some Cannondale, Pinarello, and Orbea bikes. Couldnt find anything I really liked, then the sales person said hey, we actually have a bike in your size here, but its from last year. I looked, and couldnt believe my eyes when I saw an F55 2005, and it was a 54! The price was marked down to $1699. I rode it around the parking lot for about two minutes, came back in the store, and said wrap it up! I got fit to the bike perfectly, and am looking forward to thousands of miles on my new bike! For the type of rider I am, it is the epitome. I couldnt think of anytime more I would want on a bike, couldnt be more excited.
Just had to share the love!
50/34 compact crank 11/23 gears 54cm Dura Ace equipt 17lbs.
See you on the roads

Congrats! It's always a great feeling to get a bike you've always wanted. Back when I bought my first road bike, my 1993 Trek 2100, I really wanted a 5200. I finally bit the bullet and bought one last year. The 2100 served me well all these years, but the 5200 is just a blast to ride.
Have fun on it.

I want to post pics, but the lighting in my apartment is horrible, add to that I only have a digital camera in my cell phone so the pictures will be blurry. Im going to take some next week and then I can post them. Thanks for the replies. You guys are right, its def. exciting when you get a new bike, especially the one you want. The feeling is worth the extra sacrafice to earn the few extra dollars you might spend.

Did the same thing recently and have no regrets. Always wanted a Rivendell with cantilever bosses but didn't want to go full boat on a custom because of the wait and extra expense. When they offered the Romulus with cantilevers I knew it was fate. I'd been drooling over the bike since it was listed on their website last year and 2 - 3 weeks ago I went for it. Like I said, no regrets...

Bike forum party foul. You can't post a new bike thread without pics.
