Not rust, They seem to be copper colored. Will be one of the first things to go.

Looks great.
I believe your smallest chain ring is bolted incorrectly. I'm sure the little triangle is supposed to be behind the crank arm to assist with smoother gear changes. (I could be very wrong too)
Steve.

sweet! but you got xtr and ultegra parts being shifted by sora shifters??? c'mon where's you sense of balance

seriously i'd start lookin for new shifters i had some old soras on my last geared bike and they may have been one of the reasons i now ride singlspeed (they shifted like crap after a little while).

but i bet you have plenty of time everthing works great when it's new! enjoy!

What? Shifters? What are shifters? And why do you have muliple chainrings and cogs? That's the weirdest looking single-speed I've ever seen...

I like. Mutt bikes rule! Looks like it might be kind tight to get the rear brake cabling around a fender in the back though.

Looks like you got a deal on a 2005 model. Interestly the redline conquest disc r has both disc brakes and 105 shifters. Don't have a clue on acquisition costs though as didn't find dealer.

Disc brakes would be overkill for denver area, nice but usually not needed. I would second to look for a good ultegra shifter.

That's one of them new fangled multi-single speed bicycle contraptions. Looks dangerous to me.

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

Also consider barcons - set on friction, they will be like silk with the xtr.
