Help Restore Somec Track Frame

Paint is in good shape, but what do I do about the chrome? I've read about aluminum foil with water or coke, vinegar, oven cleaner. What do you guys suggest?

Yeah hit it with some foil and water. You could also use some metal polish if you really want to bring out the shine.

Also, Somec track bike *drool*

Looks like it's starting to flake on the right side of the fork crown. I wouldn't hit it with anything harsher than aluminum foil and even then if it starts peeling you're SOL.

Wash all the grit off it first so no dirt particles remain that can cause more scratching and aluminum foil and water as others have suggested...it should come out nice... after that Blue Magic polish and a good paste wax.
My Ciocc was worse than yours and I was pleased.
I would not use steel wool no matter how fine.
BTW a very nice find.
Best, Ben
