It's time to move on... so I'm parting ways with my 1981 Soma Competition. Tange Champion #2 tubing - the full frame & fork. Comparable to 531 or SL.
Soma was a small (shop?) brand and the frames were made by Kuwahara in Japan. The Competition was 2nd in the Soma lineup. There's a discussion on this bike here in the archives somewhere.
The bike is 57cm x 57cm, Champion No. 2 butted tubes, SR Laprade seatpost, Speedic Professional (Japanese Brooks) saddle, and a full set of Shimano 600 Arabesque components. new cables and housing about 5 years ago, still in good shape. The white cork tape is still servicable. Original paint in 7/10 condition. Most of the chrome is probably 8/10. Profile design water bottle holders included, one has a broken bottom stop.
It comes with some Ukai schrader-drilled rims laced to sealed bearing hubs. They roll.

I still have to re-take the pictures. One more try to get them appropriately sized.

I don't know why the massive pictures. Shows every speck of dirt. I've worked on it since then and still have to re-take some shots.

No love for a nice riding Champion #2 frame with full Shimano 600 Arabesque?

I didn't think the price was too crazy, even if the wheels don't quite match the bike.

Not that I mind looking at it, but I did just give away it's spot, and have to do the bike shuffle every time I want to get in and out of my garage.
