Hello from the Black Forest!
Hello everyone,
I would like to quickly introduce myself:
My name is Ursel, I'm a almost 50 year old woman from Germany, currently living in the Black Forest, home of the famous cuckoo clock.
I loved bike riding all my life - spent even my first self-earned money in a new bike.
Aged 38 I got the diagnosis multiple sclerosis and not long after I found myself in a wheelchair. Bought a three-wheeled handbike but that was not the same...
To cut a long story short I got some helpful treatment and found a way of living less stressful. So after a lot of training and self discipline I'm out of te wheelchair again and - even better - back on the road.
Not with a normal bike anymore because there are still issues with my sense of balance, but with a trike.
My handbike was based on a Kettwiesel from Hase and I had it converted to a normal Kettwiesel trike in 2018.
Did some tours till then here in Germany - even a week long trip along the river Neckar with tent and stove and a three day round trip in the black forest.
Hopefully there is more to come!
In 2022 I'll have a half year off work - a sabbatical - and I'm planning to travel to the United States to ride my Kettwiesel across the country. That was my dream all life long and I'm not willing to let the opportunity pass.
Greetings from Germany ~ Ursel

Welcome Ursel!
I would be curious to know if you had some favourite route recommendations? I have a good friend and mountain biking enthusiast living near Stuttgart.

Funny how the world spins the same for many of us.
I have always wanted to bike around Europe. At my age and with my limitations it won't happen, but out on the bike I can feel like i'm many places.
