I heard an ugly rumor that Italy won't open for tourism until April 2021.

Let's hope for the Italians' sake that does not become a reality.

Received word that there will be no Eroica Limburg this year. The new date is 25-26 June, 2021. 2020 tickets will be automatically rolled forward to the 2021 event. Check the official announcement for other options.

Italy will open next weekend for tourists from the EU (sucks for you, Brexiteers), autonomous province south Tyrol is already open. Tourism makes up for some10+% of the Italian GdP so the pressure was huge.
France, Spain and other locations follow suit.

I got a mail today that the exclusive "tour de trois" (invitation ride) will take place end of June as planned. That is a tri-state event switzerland/france/Germany in the Bale/Basel region.

Nah, they already did that in 1945. I guess we owe them a few Paris-Roubaix derailleurs.

It really souds interesting, the Eroica.
Maybe 2021 is the year I should try this... Gives me time enough to prepare I guess.

Another update from The Gert Lush - looks like it's another ride that won't happen this year: -

I have recently upgraded my old brakes to newer ones (on my 1978-ish Benotto), and went from 6 speed to 8. Is that a problem for participating? The bike is a deliberate hodge-podge of part now, but that's my own choice :-)
I just went to the site thinking it'd be a nice weekend only to find out it's pretty much next door. I live in the suburbs of Wiesbaden so I'll head over there and take some pictures.

Pity! But I guess it was to be expected.

I am surprised - and glad - that Eroica Germania is still on. I shall speak to mrs non-fixie about it. Might be an opportunity to do at least one event this year. We've still got La Superba in our plans at the end of September, but it is awfully quiet in their channels.

Just received a sad e-mail: L'Eroica 2020 is cancelled. Tickets will stay valid for the 2021 edition.

Some good news too: La Carrareccia, one of the Historic Giro d'Italia stages, has apparently found a way to make their event "COVID-proof", and it is still on for September 6th.

Thank you. I've updated post # 1 accordingly.

So far it has been a lousy year for events. AFIK only two events have actually taken place, Tour de Trois and Eroica Germania. I just looked at the pictures of the latter, and it was nice to see some familiar faces, albeit with mouth masks in some cases. @fabiofarelli is one, and he has some nice pictures on his blog as well.

The only one remaining that hasn't been officially cancelled yet is La Superba, as far as I can see ...

A cycling event in Belgium already going on since last Sunday

No need to come by bike ...

Camille Van Hauwaert, who after being the first champion coming from Belgium became a major bike producer.

The bike plant is not active anymore but is having it's 110 birthday this year.

See here https://www.ronse.be/nl/nieuws/expo-...e-van-de-fiets

Still crossing my fingers for the Stalen ros Gent

The saddest thing: a picture of an event not happening.

This is the port of Nervi, this morning at 8:45. In non-COVID times it would have been full of La Superba participants:

It was nice to see that you and Farelli jr at least made it to one event. And yes, let's hope next year will provide some more opportunities for a meet-up and a beer.

We're into 2021 now, but I've just had an email from the Gert Lush - it's been put back another 12 months.

A great shame, as I was looking forward to this ride, but I think it's the right call by the organisers.

I haven't even dared put up a thread for 2021. Things are so unsure. I have planned a trip to Italy in late September, hoping there'll at least be a L'Eroica this year ...
