I have my phone holder wrapped around the stem. And then the usual elbow rest, inner tube bar wrap, and gripshift.
The hoods are switched/reversed, the left hood is on the right and vice versa. I got em like that on my '88 master, however I've left them for fear if I changed them back I would tear them.

Liquid Wrench chain lube works great. I just hate the smell.

Funny you mentioned the smell. This is the current bearing grease until it is empty. As I am going down the road, I get a whiff of it coming from somewhere.

I was originally going to write, "coming from the headset or BB." Then I realized I used it on all the bearings on the bike.

New (to me) 87 Master

The closest I've owned to a time capsule bike. Paint is near flawless. I have only noticed one part that is not original. Can you spot it?

Rear tire and bar tape. If you'll be I. Cambria next week, I can bring you a tire to match your front.

I was thinking tire- didn't know about the tape.

Next week I will be working like a dog. Thanks anyway. Hope you all have a good time.

edit: I just rememberd I have a NIB set of yellow Turbo Pros in 23mm. They wouldn't look good on any of my other bikes.

Slightly off topic, but I saw Dave Scott’s 1980 Ironman ride this morning on display in Boulder.

Note the brake cable routing.
Also note that the display shows NDS.

And that’s Connie Carpenter’s 1984 Olympic bike behind Dave Scott’s.

Today was the first ride on this bike and it was cut short as the drivetrain made a little noise. I will reserve judgement on ride quality 'til I fix the issue and get some miles in. Today the weather was great in Portland. I took five bikes out today for cleaning and quick ride.

When Dave Scott was inducted into the triathlon hall of fame (first inductee). He took that bike with him on stage. He said it was the only bike he held on to all these years. It was missing a wheel and he said he didn't know what happened to it. He guessed it might have been lost in moves or auctioned off.
