I looked at a Schwinn Superior today. It's 531 tubing, orange, Campy GS. Good condition. 26" frame. $250. I can pass along the contact info if you are interested.

Too bad it's too big for me - I've always wanted a Superior. Oh, wait a tic - I need another orange bike like I need another hole in my head.

W/ 531 tubing and Campag. GS, what would be the approx. vintage? I have always associated Superiors w/ fillet-brazed CrMo.

^ Kurt would know for sure, but I think this comes from around '80 to '82. I remember the Schwinn advertisement for their roof-mounted bike rack and a Superior was on it - upside down. I think that was '82.

I'm thinking 82 as well. I have a black 82 with all GS but it's way too small. Supposedly, they built these to use up all the Paramount parts when they shut down the Chicago plant. The 82's are basically a Paramount frame with a Tange fork.

It was on CL listed as 2 touring bikes. If it was smaller I would have jumped on it. The owner is 77 years old and he won't budge on the price. It is in Clinton, Iowa. The phone number is:563-243-0819. It is orange, the lugs look like the ones on my Paramount. 700c Super Champion Gentleman rims. Very nice guy to talk to. Tell him the guy on the Campy equipped Litespeed told you about the bike. I did not actually measure the frame, I took his word for the 26". very big. Good luck.
