Chicago Bike Swap
The Chicago Bike Swap is earlier this year, Jan 21st. I'll be there again selling overpriced junk....I mean bargain priced vintage bikes.

I will be there as a browser. I'll be looking for a decent BMX hubset and the guy that sells the black 3M bar wrap in bulk. I bought about 20+ rolls 2 years ago and it's long gone.

I will be there unless tonight's snow makes travel really unpleasant.

I will try and swing by for a quick walk-through in the morning? I am obligated to go to Ikea with my wife, and will try and combine the two!

I had been looking forward to this show but I have to work in the morning. Do you think all the good deals will be gone by mid afternoon? wait... are there good deals at these shows?

I suspect the best deals to be had are during set-up and during tear-down.

1) No - People are willing to deal in the afternoon, so that they don't have to lug stuff home.
2) Yes

+1 But many of the vendors will be packed and gone by mid afternoon. I started packing up at 3 last weekend and there were only a dozen or so vendors still set up. The opportunities are far better when the doors open.

I found the pickings non-existent for old British iron. I did find a Zefal Hp pump, a DNB rd, and single speed freewheel tool, tho. Otherwise, I just did a lot of strolling and socializing.

That was yours, now Al's? Beautiful bike. I have a soft spot for Miyatas, having owned four and still have two.

Sorry , had to stay home and look after the dogs
while Mrs GA worked on her dissertation .
I kind of wanted to see Harper College again,
haven't been since college speech tournaments in the 70's .
Hope everybody got some great deals .
For me, the Church Sales start again in March ,
and a Police Auction in April

Slushlover - Sorry that I missed you. Elle and I stopped by for a brief walkthrough, and only saw GiosCinelli. Somehow, I missed ChicagoAl (didn't see his text til much later).
I only picked up a nice user Simplex FD. And, I picked up some leads on some potential purchases. I blew plenty of dough last week in Madison, and am in selling mode.... Need to move a few bikes before I buy any more
Some nice complete bikes there (Clements Falcon, repainted Paramount, Rensho Allez, Razesa, Raleigh Superbe), but not too many vendors selling vintage parts.
A friend of GiosCinelli picked up a nice early 70s Cinelli frameset. Probably best deal of the day that I saw....
