Blackburn Floor Pump Repair
My long trusty Blackburn TP-4 Trakpump Pro has a non-operating check valve. I’ve disassembled every connection that will come apart, but can’t get at that check valve, which I suspect is within the barrel. I can separate the barrel from the base and gauge assembly, but it appears to need a special tool to go farther. Any ideas on how to repair?

The base of pump lives a hard life with the moisture and lack of frequent venting. I've seen more then a few with badly corroded bits down there. Good luck. Andy

The fix would constitute replacing the pump... But Blackburn's modern [floor] pumps are a pale imitation of their older models, even from only a few years ago.
As for the OP, post a pic that you have of the disassembly so far--almost every pump I've seen is held together with a foot nut on the bottom.

Had the same issue. Blackburn has a lifetime warranty. Call them. They'll take care of you and stand behind their warranty without question. This is why I like Blackburn.

Yup. Wrote Blackburn describing this problem; no records or receipt from when I bought this pump (at least 20 years ago). They’re sending me a new pump. Pretty amazing warranty support.

That’s amazing. My 15 year old Blackburn died recently; replaced it with a Silca. Maybe I’ll send them a note with pics of the “pump in pieces” I tried to repair.

Blackburn Trakpump sport TPS 2 --rebuild parts not available
Have non-working Blackburn trakpump sport TPS 2. Parts to rebuild not available any longer. 1/8/2024
More:
Disassembled, probably the plunger. Read threads below. Found spare parts catalog from Blackburn, nothing listed for Trakpump models.
Called spare parts number 800-7765677 on spare parts web site.
Explained problem with pump, asked about spare parts. There are none. Explained I have no warranty documentation, person said failure covered under lifetime warranty and that a replacement would be sent.

I did the warranty thing. Receiced a Blackburn Core Pro free of charge. Doesn’t work worth a damn. Have to pump like a madman to get even a little pressure, and then only get pressure in the last couple of inches of every stroke. By the time I get 115psi in my road tires I’m too pooped to ride.

Yeah, that happens to me once in a while with the Leyzne floor pump I have. If I remove the head from the valve and re-seat it a couple of times it then pumps as it should. Seems the pump head is on either too far or crooked or something else, but it does happen to even the pricey pumps. FWIW the Silca pump I have had since 1986 has never done this and it still works perfectly when I use it. The Leyzne was a gift so I use it in the basement shop. The garage shop has the trusty Silca.
