~1/30 Tried my first century attempt since oct. I need to drink and eat more on the bike. I had a mental hurdle from 50-65mile range. Found coffee shop at mile 71 and theat powered me until the end. Very endurance pace though i didn't really seem to have endurance. All my rides for the past 2 months have been a hour long only. January Century a month challenge is in the book

~2/10 tour d palm springs! started late as usual 8:30 for a 6:30 start time HAHA made pretty good time over all. Good tempo day. I used the power meter pretty well today and limit my output to 200-220 watts for the 2nd half of the ride. This is enough for my to float around 18-21mph pending wind and there was a bit of it.

~2/24 ditched the roadie to ride the new fat bike MTB, planned out a longer route but happy to cut it short some. I ran out of water at the top of the climb, there was another 10mile out n back up to the climb that.

First time really riding a 27.5+ tire bike, the new santa cruz chameleon is setup with 3" wide tires!! 120mm fork, and 1x11 drive train. I got to know the bike pretty well today, on'y adjustments made were seatpost height and setting the fork rebound a lil slower at the recommend psi for my weight. These tires are heavy then I ever run, claimed 830grams each so acceleration is not so snappy. I found myself thinking it was like a singlespeed bike and not wanting to scrub un needed speed while braking because getting back up to speed was a bit more demanding on the legs. PLus side is that the roll over angles are the same as the 29ers diameter I've been used to for the past decade. BU the tire volume lets me run less pressure and have more traction thru the turns or climbing. Front chain ring is 30 x 10/42 rear. I thought I'd swap the 30t for a 32t but after today's steep hills, it may stay a bit longer. The steep climbs I faced 25miles into the ride were taxing on the worn legs. At least I might get a bit more leg strength for when I do get back on other bikes. Stock saddle wasn't terrible for the 4hr ride but not great either. I'll judge more as it breaks in a bit more. I'm considering these (https://www.clevertraining.com/assio...ng-power-meter) using this discount (https://www.dcrainmaker.com/clever-training-vip) and new dual sided pedal based power meters comes out to $720 shipped. DC Rainmaker reviewed them and compared them to the Garmin Vector 3 and PowerTap P1. For most of us mere mortals, these are up there with the best at a fraction of the cost of the other Tier 1 power meters.

I applaud your efforts and definitely your ability to mix it up. I used to live in Corona, CA and do miss riding there.

If I didn't notice the stages cranks were on close out, I'd gone Garmin Vector pedals, one side is enough for this non racer. My previous bike was SRAM, so pedal based was really the only budget option. The Pinarello GanS i got last summer is full ultegra 6800 and opened the door into stages power cranks, MSRP is 600, i got them for $360

I thought about going single side, but Favero's upgrade pricing leaves me scratching my head. $720 (shipped) for dual sided or $467 (shipped for single sided) and then $406 (shipped for the second when/if I was ready for it). BUT, it could reduce my spend up front.....hmm.

I'm looking to order my bike this week and it'll be running 8000 Ultegra and crank based power meter options for this groupset are insanely expensive.

not too bad, still normal prices on the new Gen arms. I like mine so far. It spits a number, power curve and I use that data to train/ride too.

some weekend hero dirt session. I got new upgrades for the chameleon. Enve carbon cars, 50mm stem and different grips. I'll still toy around with the height of the stem, its at max height now and doesn't seem to hinder me from getting enough weight over the front on steep climbs.

today I told my leg F you and do it
Ran 5 miles after work, after a pretty hard effort 20mile lunch ride. Did have to walk a few hills, but not bad overall. I don't like the stairs at home today.

@WonderMonkey running sucks, i don't suggest it unless you like to suffer afterwards. During the run is fine, but I tend to feel it hard afterwards

~3/6 Lunch ride, tried to keep it mellow, keep the power and HR down. Got my first flat on the pinarello after 1528 miles. Good glass shard was instant flat. Conti GP4k have been nice to me so far.

I don't like running suffering. As I get going I like the suffering that a good bike training outing gives, though.

I also run the Conti GP4k's.

~3/7 fat tire commute to work. 3 miles or so was paved, the rest was fun single track & dirt. Bike balance wasn't that bad with the Apidura/Rapha bag out front, it was still behind the front axle so the steep dips didn't feel scarier.
