Suggestions for bicycle Kits for Clydesdales (bib shorts and Jerseys)
Started riding the bike when I was 370lbs and currently around 260lbs and have switched from riding a hybrid and MTB to my gravelgrind and purchased a new road bike, Argon 18, in the fall. Currently I own one cheat bike bit that I ordered from China and it was just to get me started. But I am ready to order a new higher quality bike kit consisting of bib shorts and a jersey.
Just looking for some suggestions and placed to order from. There seems to be more and more companies making bib shorts and jerseys for larger riders but sizing seems to be all over the place. What is your experience with bicycle clothing for road riders and where did you order from?
I am 6 feet tall and currently weigh in at about 260lbs with a 42 inch waste. When I was over 400lbs I carried most my weight in the thighs and belly and still carry most my weight there.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Patrick, welcome to BF. I started riding around 375 lbs., lost down to about 245, now back up to about 290. At my current size, I find that kits from Performance Bike, Primal, Aerotech Designs and some Pearl Izumi are the best fits for me. I'm currently riding Castelli winter tights (3XL) and Performance Bike winter jerseys. This fits me well, although the Castelli stuff runs very small and I'm stretching it a bit at my current weight. When I was down around your size, I was riding Castelli almost exclusively, because my racing team was providing Castelli kits. I was riding 2X bibs and 3X jerseys in Castelli.
At your weight, I would try Performance Bike for pretty good gear and perhaps Castelli or Louis Garneau for higher end gear. I love my Castelli gear, and I buy a lot of stuff online from Western Bikeworks. They're a great online retailer and usually have a great selection of sizes.

Bibs I go to Aerotech, but there are other brands that will fit you. I also have a set from REI (Novaro I think) that work.
Jeseys are Primal, Suarez, and Castelii as they seem to fit me at my 6 foot 3 and 360 pounds.

I am about 260 lbs. I wear mostly Bontrager Solstice Jerseys. In size XXL should fit your 260 lb frame. As you lose weight and get closer to 2225 or so, you can probably fit into size XL. Pearl Izumi Jerseys run a bit smaller, so a Pearl in size XXL is about the same size as a Bontrager Solstice size XL.
For shorts At your current weight, you can probably fit an XXL in most brands. I currently rotate between 3 pair of shorts size XXL from Pace, Specialized, and Gore. I also have a pair of Nashbar shorts size XL that fits OK. In tights, I have a pair of Pearl Izumi that seem to fit.

I have several bibs from Performance, but i have found the Louis Garneau bibs to be more comfortable as they are not cut as slim (slim is relative, i wear 3x -- )
I have been meaning to try the AeroTech stuff, as i havent been able to wear a real cycling jersey in quite a while and they can fit me --- (been content wearing Under Armour 3X t shirts all this time )

For myself, 5'11'' @ 252 lbs, I wear Louis Garneau bib's exclusively (XXL) and an assortment of Castelli and 'off brand' Jerseys in XXL and XXXL (I don't mind them being a little loose). Likewise for the cooler days I also layer on a Pearl barrier convertible jacket, in XXL. I like the Pearl jacket because of the removable sleeves.
Good luck and keep on peddling

Twin Six makes XXXL and it's pretty damn big. I'm a real big dude (a solid 6'2" 280) and I'm wishing I had bought their bibs in XXL. Plus their stuff actually looks good.

I'm 5'6" and weigh ~250#.
I use Performance Ultra Bibs (XXL). They list at $100, but they're almost always on sale for $80. And if you keep looking (sign up on the mailing list) and are patient, you can usually get them for $60 (about once a month), and about every 2nd or 3rd month for $50.
I have a Performance Jersey (XXL) that I got on clearance for $40. It's good for my longer rides, but for rides less than 2 hours, I can get by with my UA wicking shirts that I got at TJ Maxx for $10-$20. For less than 2 hours, you don't really need any food, but just water, and I have a seat bag for my tire fixing tools, and I have my Samsung Galaxy S4 attached to my bike with a Nite-Ize.

Another vote for Louis Garneau bibs. I only have the ones that I bought through a club purchase (with the club logos), but I love them. An XL fits me just fine, 6'2'' wearing 38'' jeans.

Another +1 on the Performance Ultra bibs, they're my go-to pairs for warmer commuting and any ride under 3 hours.
Primal's jerseys are nice as well, they seem to run bigger than normal cycling jerseys; that is, they're much more true-to-size

I like Aerotech a lot. I'm also really liking Endura bibs and tights, and Pearl Izumi as well.
