Depends on who you are. I regular see girls/women wearing them and usually they look stunningly good with them on, much much better than the models on the site. It is a question of matching the covers with the clothes and personal style and looks. And unlike regular helmets they look good together with long hair.

They are a fashion item for women who wants to look good in their everyday clothes on their 3-speed sit-up-and-beg bicycles, and for that they work very well indeed.

i.e. a bunch of commuter guys on BF forums who ride to work everyday are not their target audience. A very good point.

Exactly... I posted it here because I'm an 18 mi/day commuter and this is the forum I read, but these helmets are clearly meant for the short distance commuters in urban settings who wear normal clothing. They are, after all, inspired by Copenhagen culture, where 500,000 people use their bikes as their primary mode of transport everyday.

Well, what kind of helmet would you like to see? I agree that race style helmets tend to look a little too serious for day to day riding, but not many people have suggestions for alternative designs unless it's a skate style helmet with nearly no ventilation or a "hat" helmet at the start of this thread.

Less is more. Less turbo intakes, Less porsche whale tail spoilers . Loose the football/zepplin shaped profile, intigrate a visor into the front and you have a helmet
for "the regular guy"-Rodney Dangerfield

I went to my LBS to buy one of these as I saw an ad for them. You couldn't pay me to wear them though.
Although I think they are fashionable and look cool, they are extremely uncomfortable. Its like having a cast iron plate sitting on your head. I mean we are cyclists, not dodging bullets on a WWI battlefield. If they had any concept of comfort these would be more popular...and the price..well thats a whole other story. My LBS sells them for $125. At that price point, i'll pass.

I'm too dorky in other ways on my commute to pull this off, but I bet it would be great on shorter, plainclothes commutes in the city.

Yup, and since we all know people who don't like the regular swoopy helmets we see all the time, we can let them know about these. I showed the link to my wife as soon as I saw this thread, for example.

Try wearing one of those helmets when it's 98 F degrees with high humidity and tell me how much you like it! I'll take my vented plastic shell any day.
well Latitude matters , Denmark is much higher latitudes than North Carolina,
not to mention the gulf stream current is carrying a lot of moisture
to make that humidity in the atmosphere .. and snow, now..

Location, location, etc.

I found something similar available in the USA while browsing Universal Cycles website. Go to their site and look up Lazer Cityzen helmets. BTW, I think Lazer is from Belgium, not far from Denmark.

Still what bugs me about those is the apparent lack of ventilation, my brain would boil riding in that in NYC Summer.

Since I need a new helmet and wanted to try something new and white (for sunny days) I ordered the Lazer Urbanize helmet.

If you want to be stylish, why not one of these -- and vented as well.
