My partner has a Forester and loves the car. I have a Prius and my bike fits in the hatchback, whole. But then I'm only 5'3. :-)

So after I decided to post my old car in Craigslist and see if I can get more than junking it and within an hour I had 7 replies. Then i realized I can't sell it until I know when the new car will arrive. One guy was local so he came over and wants the car and can wait a week or so for it. I called the dealer and found they can't find the new car in the color and options so unless I take it in a different color, it will have to be ordered and could take 2 months.
Now I have to fix my old car so I have something to drive until the new car arrives.
Bummer.

Got jerked around but its all working out. Two days after leaving a down payment they tell me they can't find the car with the options and color I wanted. So they offer me a silver/black car they have in stock. When i tell them my wife's car we've had for 13 years is silver/black and my current car i've had for 8 years is silver/black and I don't want another. then then tell me if they have to order it it will take 2 months. When i tell them that gives me 2 months to shop for a Civic or other car that is in stock, they quickly find the car I want, color and options, but it has a sunroof. So I ask "how much is this sunroof I don't want gonna cost me?". They come back with list price and i tell them no. So 15 minutes later they come back with much less, actually under invoice, so I say yes. The car comes in 2 days later and I pick it up tomorrow. When i saw the car i see it has a number of other options I didn't specifically ask for, so i don't say anything. I sit down with the manager to do paperwork and i tell him i have a bank check for the outstanding balance... not mentioning the extras... and he takes it.
So the car cost me $1000 more, but I got $3500 worth of extras.
And my bike fits in it, which is all that counts.

I always said that next time I get a new car it'll be a truck...and I never get a truck lol. I had a nice truck about 18 years ago and I remember it got exactly 10 miles per gallon and gas was $.99 a gallon. I'd put 100 miles on it (the gas gauge didn't work so I just filled up every 100 miles), I'd stop at the gas station and get 10 gallons for 10 dollars.
Keep us updated, let us know what you get.
With my cycling how it is and just getting more involved now, and my son playing soccer (which is going to be a traveling team), I almost wish I bought one of these:
But I have an Edge which is fine and AWD, so that's a bonus up here in the northeast.

Great Bug! Did you install that dual-carb setup, or was it factory?

Got the new car, so everything is right with the world, except my bank balance.

Just watched my old Civic drive away. I was going to junk it but posted an ad on Craigslist and got 9 replies in 30 minutes, so I took the ad down since I still needed the car until the new one arrived. A local kid came today and we swapped cash for keys and he drove it away.

Enjoy the new car! My WRX is going on 13 years old, and I just got her a new set of tires. I'm gonna drive it till it drops.
