It's not about outliving, it's about keeping my battery always optimum while I am alive.

I tell my Grin Satiator to stop at 80%. No "timer" needed.

On the days I know I'll be riding far, I let it do full charge, the Satiator stops when it is.

Is there a way to set an android phone to charge to 80%, if that prolongs battery life? I can't find an option in settings.

EDIT: Found it, it's layered pretty deep, hard to find, if checked, will only charge to 85%. Wish I had known about this when I first got the phone. Procedure:

settings - battery and device care - battery - more battery settings - protect battery (limit max charge to 85%), select that to ON

I would gladly use one of those (and wish my laptop had such settings), but unfortunately not available so far for the Smart series Bosch batteries.

I'm amazed that OEM's can't program their systems to charge to 80%, 90% or 100% (especially when it's so easy with DIY). Fortunately my Haibike - Yamaha battery has lights for each 20% of charge, so I just wait until four (of five) lights are activated, then stop charging. If I'm heading out for a long ride I just charge to 100% before leaving.

This is a good one

I replaced the bad mechanical timer with this one. It’s great so far. Shows at a glance how much time is left and starts with a single button press.

$14 From Amazon.
