1977 Schwinn Volare
I haven't been on the forum for a long long time but have decided to get my 77 Volare back on the road. Mine was stripped of all the paint and while I do like the chrome I want the old school look again. Does anyone on the forum have this model and if so would you be gracious enough to take some pictures of the decal placement in regards to the VOLARE decal on the bottom tube and also how far the chrome measures from the dropout on the chainstays and on the fork as well. I know its a bit of a shot in the dark but it would be much appreciated

Mine's a '78, but I think the decals are the same year-to-year. The Schwinn is faded but present on the top tube; I removed the Dura-Ace decals from the chainstays but can post an "as found" photo if you need their location as well.
Chrome: Chainstay 4.5", measured from end of stay, seatstay 5" from end of stay, fork 6" measured in straight line from axle to paint.

I sold an all original 77 Volare, red color, to @76SLT last winter. I'm short on time just now, but I will send you a several pics at my first opportunity. Perhaps 76SLT can make some measurements for you.

Wish I had a Volare. I’ve wanted one for quite some time and they never seem to come up for sale.

Thank you JJ and Campagnerdo I am most appreciative. I haven't been on the forum and although I managed to start this thread when I tried to change my password it bonked me off I kept trying to change it and had a heck of a time. Finally got it a few minutes ago. I have had this bike torn down for over 3 years and just never seemed to get the right time. Finally I'm getting it back together. Gonna get it powdercoated in a really close match to the original orange. Unfortunately I don't have the original fork so I have one from another Schwinn I have used. The bike rode beautifully when I had it on the road before. I actually managed to fine a NOS Crane rear derailleur from a guy in France and even though some of the bits are not original I do have a lot of them. Pretty pumped to get it back on the road.

I thought the measurements were supplied in post 4 but if there are any measurements you still need, I'd be happy to get them for you.

That Volare wouldn't happen to be for sale would it?
