Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New 2020 Emonda or a restock?

I want the EmondaSL6 Pro but it’s out of stock. I heard they don’t restock and they just wait for 2020 models to come out.. anyone know when the 2020 emonda’s will come out?

Generally new bikes come out in October.

Our 2019s (last year) started showing up in mid-June with the last batch showing up in early September. There were size/color combos that took till October but 95% of the SKUs were available by the middle of August.

I had the same trouble trying to buy an Emonda ALR5 The Trek customer service rep I chatted with said new models would be out in a couple of weeks (this was about a week ago). Summer Sale is going on now, I expect they'll be rolling out some Emondas right around the start of the Tour de France.

If you work at the bike shop that is a Trek agent surely you can find out exactly what is happening through the shop rather than asking random people on the internet?

We had the 2020 Emonda SL 5 Disc (in a few sizes) show up in boxes last night. The guys are working on them to have them on the showroom floor. It sounds like more on the way over the next week or so (I'd need to check Dexter to verify what models)

I was told there was a production issue when I spoke to my Trek dealer back in March. The ALR5 disc was out of stock and Trek didn’t even know when they would have it again. At least that is what the dealer told me.

You might call around and see if there are any other trek dealers that have one on the floor. I live in Oklahoma and I’ve bought 2 bikes out of California. I normally try to buy last years model and save a lot of cash.

Looks like only black and white for the 2020 SL6 Disc Pro. The regular SL6 is an attractive red. Do you have a color preference?

As another data point as to when 2020 Trek models are coming out: I was just at my LBS today and wanted to get the new 2020 Checkpoint ALR5 in the new orange/copper matte color (they call it Matte Axinit). After test riding what they had on the floor to confirm my frame size, they were able to place an order for the bike and expect it to arrive next week. So I think Trek dealers should be able to order the new model bikes that they've recently posted on trek.com if you just ask.
