Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best price 8000 groupset

My Wilier is 6700 and shifts fine have it dialed in but it does require patience at first to get it correct. My 6800 on the other bike is smooth as butter much easier cannot imagine much better. So might upgrade. Is the 8000
as good as 6800? I can use the same 6700 crank I think it will shift no different. So what’s the best price anyone has seen?

Possibly tell me i crazy since the 6700 really does not miss shifts and I don’t necessarily need 11 speeds. It would make the wheels interchangeable. The wheels already are 11 speed i just use spacer for 10. I will take any and all opinions.

I have no experience with 67/6800, but my bike with r8000 shifts perfectly. In fact, my other bike with r7000 shifts just as good (actually better, but that has more to do with the cable routing). Unless you just want the bling factor, or you're counting every gram, I'd go with r7000.

Even better if this specific setup works for you. It's what I got to put on the NOS Y-Foil I found this winter. $627.71

According to this post, your 6700 drivetrain 'shifts fine' and 'does not miss shifts'. It looks like the only reason you are considering changing is because it takes patience at first to get it correct...so does that mean its a pain to set up? Or does that mean each ride it takes time to get shifting to work, then once it works, its fine?

If the only issue is that its a pain to set up, well thats hardly a reason to spend $700. You set up a drivetrain maybe once a year and really it shouldnt take long once initially set up since even new cables and housing each year wont take too long due to the derailleurs being set to proper limits.
If the issue is that it takes time to get shifting to work on each ride, well thats definitely annoying and isnt actually dialed in.

$700 to get 1 extra cog on an already working system is...well its not what I would find valuable, but to each their own.

No once it is set it is fine and it is not all that difficult. I have upgrade in my head and you have brought me back to my senses. THank you.

It's super slick and really clever, craps all over a quill adapter.

I know.... but if I remember correctly that's what it's "brother" has on it.
