Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Annual PISSING CONTEST: Your mileage for 2013

Since nobody else did it, I will.
What's your total mileage for 2013?
Throw in any other stats you want too.
I’ve got 3,400 miles and just over 175,000 of vertical feet.

And remember, it’s the honor system. No lying.

A bit over 3500, with 600 of it this month. Much of it is commute. My goal for the new year is 7000.

Between 1700 and 2000. I'm not sure of the exact miles. That doesn't count the many miles I put on indoors either...

impressive numbers, looking at the number of rides you seem to have done several days with more than one ride.

I'm car free so commuting to work results in a two a day.

Includes commuting so there are a lot of short, slower rides in there. This is probably close to the max mileage I can do until my kids are older.

good point, I didn't want to offend anyone, but I was wondering how one can do so much riding without neglecting something or someone?

About half my mileage is commuting so that makes it possible to squeeze in more riding. The rest is from weekend rides of about 50-70 miles on average.

So I didn't start riding until late September this year. Strava (I didn't start using the app until December) shows me having a total of 1431 miles, but using my cateye, I've got another six or seven hundred miles to add. So that means I've done around 2000 miles. Pretty happy with that as I've only been riding 3 months.

From Strava

Year-to-Date
Distance 1,431.3 mi
Time 85h 37m
Elev Gain 29,180 ft
Rides 43

Since I won't be riding today, my total for the year is 2657.16.

Maybe a little higher for a couple rides that didn't save on Garmin, but I'm not setting any Guiness records anyways.
