What are some good cycling movies?

I'd only seen Breaking Away a couple years ago, to me aside from being a very charming and entertaining film it really portrays the joy of cycling. Then there is the Finnish film Rukajarva Tie, which follows a bicycle mounted small unit during the advance through Karelia in the opening days of the Continuation War. This film boasts some spectacular cinematography, and is otherwise entirely watchable. In fact as with all Finnish war movies it far surpasses what Hollywood typically has to offer.

What are some other good cycling films that are worth watching?

"American Flyers"(1985).
It has a bad guy the audience just loves to hate.
And Alexandra Paul's nipples.

"I know you know I'm back here Belov...only...I'm not really here; I'm 10 seconds ahead, so I'm really up there!"

Netflix has some good documentaries that I enjoyed.

- Stop at Nothing (Lance)
- Slaying the Badger (Lemond and Hinault)

Actually, google it and you'll find a ton. I just did it myself. There's a lot there.

Quicksilver is a good one. Great bike tricks by the bike messengers.

Hell On Wheels (in German with English subtitles; original title, "Hellentour"). The 2005 Tour de France from the point of view of the Telecom team.

Best line (Eric Zabel, after describing the terrors of descending on roads in the Alps on tires 2 cm wide): "I should have been a surfer."

Quick Silver is hilarious.

The best scene is the one where Kevin Bacon walks into the convenience store by his loft and catches the villain buying five cans of cat food...menacingly.

Runner-up is the race sequence where they very obviously teleport from NYC to San Fransisco and back.

If you want nipples in your cycling movies, check out "Key Exchange". Actually it's more of a 'nipples' movie with cycling in it. One of the stars is Daniel Stern of Breaking Away fame.

I wouldn't call it great or anything, but it will leave your butt wanting to sew button holes.

Turbo Kid*(2015) - Rotten Tomatoes
How about a post apocalyptic movie done 80s style where everybody gets around on BMX bikes . I haven't watched it yet but I'm super hyped for it.

The film about the life and death of Marco Pantani. Can't remember the name. It's on Netflix. Good film. Sad story. I saw Pantani while riding to the Bianchi factory during the '95 Giro. He had injured himself earlier in the year and was sitting out the Giro to get ready for Le Tour. He must have been out for a little spin. There was no mistaking those ears, and he was wearing his Carerra kit with the faux denim shorts.

You guys should list your suggestions by genre, Quicksilver, American Flyers, and Premium Rush are actually movies with a plot, a story, some drama. Sunday in Hell, Slaying the Badger, Rising from Ashes are documentaries about specific people. One of the documentaries I enjoyed was "The ride of my life' from the BBC you can watch it for free on youtube here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leg9iYK-9E0

The film is called Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist. Would definitely recommend this one as well if you're interested in documentaries and it's available on Netflix as stated above.

The Cyclist was a Noir film about a Guy who to pay for his wife's hospitalization, had to ride his Bike
in a small circle non stop for a Week

to win the money taken in from selling tickets to watch the spectacle & money bet against him being able to do so.

Bicycleran (1987) - IMDb
