Surly LHT/Disc Trucker 2016 now 3X10

Surly LHT/Disc Trucker 2016 now 3X10 30 Speed

I was looking on Surly.com at the bike parts for 2016 and
I seen 3X10 30 Speed and Surly LHT Shimano has HG-50 11-32t 10 speed cassette
Surly Disc Trucker has Shimano HG-50 11-36t 10 speed cassette.

I have a Surly LHT 26in 52cm 2008 I just put on my Shimano XT Thumb Shifter 9 speed pods
and Shimano XT FD 9 Speed and Shimano Deore 24-32-42t crankset 10 speed ready using
9 Speed Sram PC-971 Chain and Sram PG-970 11-34t 9 speed cassette and I was onsram(dot)com

com/ I seen that Sram PG970 in 11-32t, 11-34t is no longer made! and I did google Sram PG-970 11-34t msrp $45.00 and I found the Sram PG970 11-34t 9 speed cassette is on sale at jensonusa(dot)com for $29.99 and Sram PG970 11-34t 9 speed cassette at pricepoint(dot)com for $29.98 maybe I will order 2 spare Sram PG970 11-34t 9 speed cassette or get ready for 3X10 and Shimano SLX HG80 11-34t 9 speed cassette or order Shimano XT Thumb Shifter right pod 10 speed (Dyna sys) only $44.99 at jensonusa and get Shimano SLX HG81 11-34t, 11-36t and Shimano RD XT M781 Shadow SGS long cage Sram PC1050 chain or KMC X10 chain
and I maybe staying with 9 speed

So... what are you asking? Far too much detail and lack of sentences for me to plow my way through the post and decipher.

Tim... is that you? CGOAB members will understand.

(I just read one of your other postings and can confirm it is you. Some interesting times ahead in the forum...)

the component makers are in a gizmo competition with each other . like it or strip it and put something else on,

sell the over fancy stuff to someone who feels inadequate without the latest kit.

Your multiple posts indicate a strong concern for having updated components and spares; what are you concerned about?

I run 8sp and 7sp on all my bikes. Parts still available. Parts will still be available for years to come. Bike marketeers dream about making the buying public obsessed with latest gear; there is no need to get fixated on minor differences between 9sp and 10sp. As long as your bike has an adequate low gear and a reasonable mid and high gear, things will be fine.

Why do you constantly post about latest components and gadgets? People tour and camp with less durable and less expensive equipment than you currently have. Certainly by now you have what is needed to do your tours.

Why do you call yourself a hobo -- I am not sure how hobos are able to constantly upgrade expensive components and buy spares.

This is an unfortunate situation and will come to no good. Check out CGOB. I hope the mods/admins will take care of this.
