Polar now does ANT+
I got an email this morning stating that some Polar sensors can be updated to do ANT+.
Polar devices have had the dual Bluetooth/ANT+ chipsets built in for a long time but the code wasn't present for ANT+. Apparently a firmware update enables it on a couple of sensors including H10, OH-1 and OH-1+.

Wow, that is cool! know if it is rolled out yet or how to update?
That has always been a big drawback to me. Surprised to see it getting some attention from Polar...

Only some of the sensors for now and it is enabled via firmware update.
Polar didn't want to support ANT+ because the protocol is owned by a subsidiary of Garmin. Can't say I blame them.
This is an attitude change by Polar as much as it is a business decision.
It will be nice to have ANT+ on my V650 head unit but still, I'm not holding my breath.
