I thought they were the same. The 2004 Cannondale catalog only lists Optimo SI (on the R800-R3000) and Optimo SI Hollowgram on the R5000 and Team Replica.
Is the Optimo SI Hollowgram the CAAD7 frame and the Optimo SI just the Optimo frame?

The SI means that the bottom bracket is oversized for the Hollowgram
crankset. Other than that they are all the same.

CAAD 7 is the name of the frame design, Optimo is the name of the new Alcoa Aluminum Alloy that the tubes are made of.
The website shows bikes with an Optimo Si Hollogram frame, an Optimo Si frame and an Optimo frame.
The hologram is easy to figure out, but im not sure what the difference is between the Optimo si and Optimo frames.
In 2003 only the Hologram cranked bikes were labled as having the Si moniker. In 2004 the R1000, R2000, R3000 have the Optimo Si moniker, yet all use stock shimano cranks.
Maybe they are putting Si on everything to make us think its cooler. Kind of like all those little japanese pocket cars with Type-R badges.
My friend who runs the LBS here told his specialized rep - There is no "S" in "Marketing"
