I'm not the expert, but the only ones designated 'Pro' that I've seen are the ones like rodteague and I have, early 90's aluminum main tubed bikes. There were an awful to of variations under the Technium brand, and an awful to of labels.
If you haven't figured it out yet, the guide for sussing out the Technium serial numbers is now on the very first post on this thread. Serial number will be on the bottom bracket.

I've had two Techniums comes through my garage. The first was an '86 (?) 460 (?) that I picked up for just $25. Maybe my best bike deal:
Lovely, flexy ride. It "planes" maybe the best of any bike I've had. The three main tubes were aluminum, everything else was steel.
I tried a 650B conversion on it:
but the brakes were dangerously bad in the wet. Great riding bike, but I sold it to a friend for some reason.
Later I picked up an Peak mtb frame off ebay. I had hoped this would give me the lively ride of the road bike but with room for fatter tires, but the ride of the Peak is quite ordinary. Just OK. I still have it. I kept the wrong Technium!
This guys has an aluminum front (including the head tube and lugs) with a steel rear.

I can't seem to find info on this particular model, even of Kurt Kaminer's website. Lots of info on the '86, and all other catalogs I've found are the UK version. Looks like Shimano Exage, 6601 AL? Anyone?

Picked this up awhile back and hope to get it and several others done this year. Right now the plan is a Suntour 4050 Accushift drivetrain with barcons on mustache bars.

The component group appears to be Exage Motion, which would place it circa 1988-1989 and upper entry level. Sport-touring geometry.

I'd take that home in a second. What is the group on that?

Shimano Exage ex500. Bike was "made" (put together) in Washington state. I swapped out the original steel handle bars for wider, more swept back alloy bars. It also has a Brooks Pro on it now. Rides really nice.

It's a 440 and has the rear brake cable housing entering from the right side of the top tube, so it's got to be an '87. In 88, the Techniums went to 700c tires and cable routing through the left side of the top tube.

The Team is the only Technium I am aware of that was built with steel (753). The Technium Pro (at least in the 1989 catalogue) was 6061-T8 aluminum, just like the other three levels under it.
OOPs My mistake. It still appears that the earlier late 80's Team Technium Pro model used 531. At what point did they offer aluminum main tubes...... maybe 1991? I've seen far more Team Pro Techniums in that configuration than your model, and I have only been following this bike and it's developement for a short period of time. I believe the lesson here, is not to make assumptions. It would be nice to find a comprehensive timeline for the Techniums; just haven't been able to uncover one yet. Oh well, I'm sure someone will chime in.
Very nice bike btw
Best Regards

oops. '92 not '82
IThis Technium Supercourse was my first buy after catching N+1 three years ago. Until reading this thread I've always thought it was an '82. It had flat straight bars and down tube friction shift when I got it. The LBS found me a set of 3x7 Tourney brifters which work very well. 1 1/4 seat tube, steel chain stays and BB, alum lugs and head tube, c-steel fork, all exage500(LX) alum araya rims, stainless DT swiss spokes. The ride is a nice blend of firm and flex compared to my new alum bike, but I weigh 165 which may help.

That got me thinking, so I got a magnet out and checked the lugs to my '89. I got a weak response from all lugs and b.b., possibly due to a high degree of alloy in the steel. Head tube and stays both registered a strong response. Exploring a little further, I checked the lugs on my '63 Grubb and '83 Moser. All of these lugs gave a weak response to the magnet, while the maintubes, etc showed a strong attraction. You might want to go back and see if you get any response at all from a magnet on your legs.

recheck
Guess I wasn't clear on that. Chain and seat stays are steel while the head tube, BB and all lugs are aluminum. I initially thought everything painted black was steel. Between the 4130 fork and 28c tires it rides vibration free and comfortable. It does get too twitchy above 30mph though.

I've come across this one for sale for $225. Even the original Brooks Gel Lite saddle looks mint. I believe it's a '90 model with a Suntour Radius group. Does anyone have experience with Radius? I read it's supposed to be 105 level. I'm mainly wondering if another brand cassette would work with the shifters.

I saw a 440 that I wanted in a shop back in '86, but I couldn't afford it at the time. Yours looks mint!
