Box brakes help!!!
my bike has box brakes in the front and they keep squeaking loud. I tried spraying them with wd40 that helped for maybe two days. Then I noticed the rim had black rings around it so I cleaned it off but after a few days they are back to squeaking. Should I just change the pads? Or should I sand the rim down? Not sure what to do.

Replace the pads, clean the rim thoroughly with fine steel wool and a cloth with rubbing alcohol, and never use oil on them again. If you're not sure how to adjust brakes properly, including proper toe-in, get some help with it.

Might be the answer right there. There is almost nothing that can't be made a little bit more cheaply but worse.

As mentioned, toe-in might fix the squeak, but clean the WD40 off of everything and possibly get new pads.

whole bike in house manufacturing was more a fact in Soviet Bloc Eastern countries in the 60's & 70's
when they were not permitted to buy parts from the West..

Box is new in the mountain bike world, but I don't think it's the typical Chinese copy junk. They're trying to be a viable alternative to the Shimano/SRAM, but that's a touch road.
