Opinions on Micargi cruisers
I'm interested in a Micargi Tahiti NX3 for $270. (it looks like a foot forward Electra Cruiser 1 with a Nexus 3 speed.) Electra no longer offers a steel 3 speed. The Lux (aluminum) one 3i is $550 (OUCH!)
My question is how is anyone's experience with Micargi and Bikeberry.com for customer support and quality issues? I can't seem to find much in the last 5 years on the forums.
Every time I see a Micargi in person, they seem to look really good. Everything I read about them claims they are lacking in quality/finish.
Any insight is much appreciated.
I'd like a nice, shiny beach cruiser for downtown bike parties. Craigslist is lacking in clean Electra step-overs, but plenty of step-throughs.

i have a basic one, but never ride it. i think it's called a "touch" truthfully i was cleaning out accumulated cruisers i had gotten used and realized one was a micargi. can't really give an opinion on it, 'cause i think at best i rode it from the booth i brought it at to my truck and thats it. i would like to pick up a micargi royal eventually though.

I guess my question isn't so much on the ride, but the materials and workmanship? (soft steel hardware, etc.)
