giro di coppi in barnesville, md. it's one that i ride to. pville and aarr are a little farther away.

breaks in cat 4 races, usually not, but they can. i can recall lots of races won by successful breakaways when i was a 4, and the staples of the calender arent drastically different. it just takes persistence and commitment.

You can't see me suffering but I'm not in the field and nowhere near shelter. About 10 minutes before the end of the race. I accidentally got 14th.

Hey guys ("guys" in a generic gender neutral sense ) I know this is nit-picky but there have been real issues in the past with photo attribution so please attribute your pics.

If taken by significant other/friend/family/pet/etc. just say so. If taken by a pro who was at the race make sure you have permission.

Many thanks.

It's not me, but some of you might recognize the guy in second trying to make a break stick. I was thumbing through the pics of my club's recent crit and found it. The photographer is Adam Bendig

i know i'm suffering as there is a bead of sweat on the back of my neck visible in the high-rez version. photo credit goes to my friend phil--a buddy from college who saw on facebook that i was racing in socal and came out to watch the races and snap a few frames.

(wouldn't ya know it -- my hands are in the drops for the duration of the crit! ;-))

Shippensburg Race Weekend. All photos credited to Jan V Polk, who has graciously taken boat load of photos of us Walter Mitties on two wheels and allowed us to re-use the photos.

Not me in the photo, but someone's having a bit too much fun. These kids were marching up a 0.5 mile 12% avg climb, and they are smiling. Talk about joy of cycling

Me in the crit. Maybe it's the angle of the shot, but I seem to have caught a case of the Cuddles suffer-face

Road Race. Actually suffering. Final time up the damned hill.

Nice. Great crit shot there through the corner. I only did the RR (4/5), but a great time. How many times did your field have to grind out ol' Horse Killer?

Thanks. We went up 4 times, and this was the final time.

Good job on getting in the break. I wish i thought things through a bit more as opposed to doing what I did on Sunday. Race and learn...

Hopefully the Penn State kids will wise up and start including USAC races as well since the drive isn't too much further and it's beautiful out there (not to mention quite a bit of climbing).
