Looks a bit tight around the adjuster, but overall, not too shabby. Here's a pic of of the Mafac hood for reference....

The thinner profile non aero Dia Compe hoods fit 600 levers very well. They're probably almost as hard to find as the 600 hoods though. Unless you happen to find an old mid eighties mid Schwinn, it seems to be just about the only bikes that had them. They were between the older and the DC aero models, which was a short time period.,,,,BD

Weinmann Carrera hoods are different from all other Weinmann hoods, Shape-wise and material wise. They are shaped more like Campy NR/SR hoods and they are a softer more latex like material, compared to other Weinmann hoods.
Quite hard to find these days and rarely pop up at eBay, so one might have to buy whole lever sets just to get the hoods....as I just recently had to do so I can refresh my Weinmann Carrera brakeset for a project.
At 45 bucks for the NOS lever set, I think I got them for a bargain anyway, as NOS hoods alone can cost that much when they do show up for sale.

Those look like Weinmann "pattern" hoods. Could be aftermarket hoods as the Weinmann hoods usually have Weinmann markings on them. Cane Creek makes a Weinmann pattern hood that should work just as well and so did Am'e. Both those replacement brands also have markings on their hoods.

this is true for the economy balilla lever but not for the corsa 61 which has a cast body with a large bulge around the cable casing:

Has anyone here ever tried their hand at making a mold? You'll need a decent set of hoods to use as the model but it is not too difficult. You'll need some mold release and plaster of paris. Done properly, the mold will even pick up the logos.
The question is what to use as the hood material? You can get two part silicone but there may be better material for this application.

Real late to the game, I know, but Hilary Stone has some NOS black Galli hoods on his site. I bought a set from him a couple weeks ago. So, for the few of us with Galli levers, there is (for awhile) a source...

Yeah, Hilary ran out a long while ago. iab attempted to clone my black ones, but something in the rubber must have reacted with his blue goo and kept it from curing. My Galli hoods are still unused, so if someone would like to take a crack at them, let me know. Happy to loan them out. David, I wonder if maybe a coat or two of liquid mask might be sufficient to allow your stuff to cure without ruining fine details on the hoods.

I've been using Dia Compe 202/204 hoods for my Dura Ace 7400. The fit is solid, especially over handlebar tape. The overall length is a couple of mm's too long. Not thrilled about the length, but they work well.
Of note, I use V-brake noodle cable stops in the tops of the brake levers. They protrude about a mm or so above the hoods, but they keep the cable from bending down.

When you wear those out, try Rustines. They fit perfectly, no overlap.
